{"id":38284,"date":"2024-02-23T12:13:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T06:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/?p=38284"},"modified":"2024-03-08T12:32:57","modified_gmt":"2024-03-08T07:02:57","slug":"harinam-diksha-nityananda-trayodashi-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/harinam-diksha-nityananda-trayodashi-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Harinam Diksha on Sri Nityananda Trayodashi 2024 at ISKCON Bangalore"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On the Sri Nityananda Trayodashi (22 Feb 2024), the auspicious appearance day of Lord Nityananda ISKCON Bangalore temple conducted the Harinam Diksha, or Initiation Ceremony, was conducted at ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Temple, Rajajinagar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devotees who aspired to become disciples of Srila Prabhupada, Founder-<em>Acharya<\/em> of ISKCON, received initiation as instructed by His Divine Grace in a letter to ISKCON leaders on 9 July 1977. The devotees took an oath to chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra sixteen rounds daily and adhere to the four regulative principles throughout their lives under the auspices of Their Lordships, Srila Prabhupada, Vaishnavas, and sacrificial fire as witnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The four regulative principles are<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; No meat-eating (includes eggs, onion and garlic)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; No intoxication (includes tea, coffee, alcohol, drugs and tobacco)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; No illicit sex (no illicit relations outside of marriage)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
