First Lady of India Smt. Savita Kovind, wife of Honorable President of India Sri Ram Nath Kovind visits ISKCON Bangalore Temple on February 7, 2021.
Smt. Savita Kovind was accompanied by her daughter Ms Swati Kovind. The First Lady participated in the pooja and darshan at the divine Radha-Krishna mandir. True to the inimitable style the First Lady kept a low profile during the tour while the public darshan went on unimpeded. This is her first visit to the ISKCON Bangalore temple as the First lady.
They also visited the kitchen facility of The Akshaya Patra Foundation located in the temple premises and understood the operations that go into cooking 1.8 million meals every day.
Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Senior Vice-President, ISKCON Bangalore conducted the temple tour for the dignitaries. Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, President, ISKCON -Bangalore, played host to the guests over lunch. A Rajbhog Thali was specially packed and gifted to the Honourable President of India. It is the grandest bhog offering with twelve varieties of food items including sweets, savories and vegetable preparations offered to Sri Radha Krishnachandra. Smt Kovind said that the visit was immensely satisfying and a spiritual experience participating in the pooja ceremony. Ms Swati also expressed her joy on visiting the shrine.
