ISKCON Bangalore will celebrate the Sri Brahmotsava of Their Lordships at ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill, Vasanthapura, from 19 June to 21 June 2024.
Sri Brahmotsava is an annual festival celebrated to commemorate the appearance of the Presiding Deities of the temple, marking the installation ceremony, also called Prana pratishtha.
Pre-festival preparations
On 18 June, from 6 PM onwards, rituals, including Rakshabandhana, Mrtsangrahana, Anukurarpana, Garuda Pata Pratishtha, and Vainateya Homa, are performed to seek the grace of the Lord and His associates and to sanctify the festival paraphernalia.
Dhvaja Arohana: Hoisting of the Festival Flag
On 19 June at 8:15 AM, the festival commences with the abhisheka for Sri Garudadeva, followed by the Dhvaja Arohana ceremony or hoisting of Garudadeva’s flag, and Ashta Dik Palaka Avahana, where important devotees and devatas in charge of the eight cardinal directions are invited for the festival with the chanting of Vedic mantras, special musical tones and offerings of the Lord’s maha-prasadam.
Nitya Puja and Brahmotsava Yajna
During the 3-day celebrations in the morning and evening, at 8:15 AM and 4:30 PM, Brahmotsava homas are conducted with the chanting of Vedic mantras, including the Purusha Sukta. Devotees are cordially invited to attend the Puja and Yajna and be blessed by the Lord.
Pallakki Utsava
On 19 June, from 6 PM onwards, the utsava vigrahas of Sri Sri Radha Krishnachandra and Sri Sri Rajagopala Rukmini Satyabhama are taken on a Pallakki procession accompanied by Harinama Sankirtana to bless the eagerly awaiting devotees.
Pallakki Utsava seva will also be offered to Them along with Smt. Rajalakshmi Padmavathi Devi on 21 June at 6:30 PM.
Jhulan Utsava in Mukha Mandapa
On 19 June at 7 PM, Their Lordships will be offered a Jhulan Utsava seva with a florally decorated swing accompanied by Harinama Sankirtana and Vaishnava bhajans. The visiting devotees can also swing Their Lordships and offer their seva.
Abhisheka Seva
On 20 June at 11 AM, the first-ever black stone mula vigraha of Srila Prabhupada, along with Sri Garuda and Bhakta Hanuman, will be offered an elaborate Abhisheka seva.
On 21 June at 10 AM, the utsava vigrahas of Sri Sri Radha Krishnachandra and the mula vigraha of Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda will receive an abhisheka seva accompanied by chanting of the Veda mantras and grand kirtans.
Kalyanotsava
On 20 June at 5:45 PM, a Kalyanotsava seva will be offered to Sri Sri Rajagopala Rukmini Satyabhama. The utsava vigrahas of Sri Sri Rajagopala Rukmini Satyabhama will be offered an elaborate marriage ceremony celebration by the devotees playing the role of the family members of the brides and the groom, seeking Their blessings for the welfare of everyone.
Samprokshana
On 21 June at 8 PM, as part of the final rituals of the Brahmotsava, a Samprokshana ceremony will be performed to sanctify the temple premises and atmosphere.
