ISKCON Bangalore celebrated the first Ratha Yatra, which began 39 years ago, in 1985, from the temple premises at Palace Orchards, Sadashivanagar. There were two beautiful, gigantic Rathas – one for Lord Krishna and the other for Lord Balarama. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Krishna and Balarama rode on the same chariot. Since then, every year, the Ratha Yatra has been celebrated by carrying both Krishna and Balarama on a single Ratha with great love and devotion.
The grand festivities of the 39th annual Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Ratha Yatra at ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Temple, Rajajinagar on 27 Jan 2024, were marked by devotional fervour and Harinama Sankirtana, bringing people from all walks of life together in a joyous celebration. We express our gratitude to Shri N. Chaluvarayaswamy, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, and Shri K. Gopalaiah, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, for joining us in the inauguration ceremony.
