COOLERS TO BEAT THE SUMMER HEAT
As the days get hotter and hotter many of us find our appetites on the wane. All we want to do is to drink water or anything cool and refreshing. There is nothing nicer than a cool drink to revive one on a hot day. For those of you who are on the lookout for cooling beverages with a difference, here are some recipes for you to ensure a cool and refreshing summer. |

| GREEN JUICE
|

Ingredients
2 cup curds, 1 cup grated cucumber, 1/2 cup grated cabbage, 1-2 green chilies, 1/2 bunch coriander leaves, 1 bunch pudina, 4 tbsps sugar, salt, pepper powder. |
Method
Grind all the above ingredients, strain and pour into 4-5 glasses. Serve chilled. |

| PINEAPPLE CREAM JUICE

Ingredients
1 pineapple, 1 cup fresh coconut milk, 4-5 tsps honey,
1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup cream
|
Method
Grind pineapple and strain the juice. Mix the juice with coconut milk, honey, sugar, cream and again grind it in a juicer.
Chill well before serving. |

| BEETROOT JUICE

Ingredients
1 small grated cucumber, 1 grated beetroot,
1/2 cup grated pineapple, 4 apples (cut into medium cubes), sugar |
Method
Grind separately beetroot, pineapple and cucumber along with water and strain it. Boil the apple cubes and grind along with the sugar, mix them well and pour it into glasses. Serve chilled. |

| POMEGRANATE JUICE

Ingredients
Pomegranates 10, apples 5, chat masala 5 tsp, salt 1 pinch, sugar, pPepper powder 1 tsp |
Method
Grind the fruits with water and strain; then add chat masala, salt, sugar and pepper powder and mix all together.
Serve chilled. |

| ROSE WATER LASSI
|

Ingredients
1 1/2 liter curds, 1/2 litre milk, sugar 500 grams, rose water 1 tbsp |
Method
Grind curds and milk together in a mixer and strain it. Add sugar and rose-water mix to it. Serve chilled. |

| LEMON AND PUDINA JUICE
|
 |
Ingredients
1 bunch pudina, 10-15 lemons, 500 gms sugar, 1 1/2 liter water |
Method
Grind pudina into a paste along with water and add lemon juice, sugar and a pinch of salt. Blend all these together with water. Serve chilled. |

| Fruit coolade
|
 |
Ingredients
1 glass of watermelon juice
,
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice,1/2 teaspoon ginger juice
,
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
.

Method
Put all the ingredients in a mixie and blend them well and serve chilled topped with ice cubes.

| Pine orangeade
|
 |
Ingredients
Juice of 3 oranges, 200 ml pineapple juice, 1/2 cup sugar
,
1/4 cup lemon juice
,
400 ml soda water
|
Method
Mix all the ingredients together (except the soda) and keep in the fridge. When you are ready to serve, add in the soda water to the mixed juices, stir it and serve immediately.

| Cucumber and mint drink
|
 |
Ingredients
50 gms of peeled and chopped cucumber
,
1 tablespoon freshly chopped mint leaves
, 150 ml chilled milk
,
150 ml plain yoghurt
,
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Method
Put the peeled and chopped cucumber, chopped fresh mint and the milk in a mixie and blend for a couple of seconds. Add in the yoghurt, salt, pepper and give it a quick blend again. Serve chilled.
